Hello FC Salmon Creek Families,
Following extensive review and discussion, US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer have collectively decided to transition to an age-group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31, beginning with the 2026–27 season. US associations believe this new model will be more inclusive, help increase participation and it better aligns players with their school-grade peers.
Shifting from a calendar-year to a school-year model will create meaningful but challenging changes during the May 2026 tryouts for Academy & Advance players. Longstanding teams may now see a mix of current and new teammates.
Starting in Fall 2026, Recreation Program families can expect that we will do our best to allow players to play with their school friends and teammates as we align with the new rule change. We understand that in the Recreation Program, there would be more flexibility to accommodate requests for players to "play up" in order to stay with friends or coaches and to ensure that we form teams to give playing opportunities for all.

ABOUT FC SALMON CREEK
Salmon Creek is dedicated to providing young soccer players with a supportive developmental environment and a constructive athletic program. Our goal is to help build self-confidence at all competitive levels while fostering an understanding of the importance of cooperation, teamwork, and fair play. FC Salmon Creek offers participants the chance to learn valuable life lessons, forge lasting friendships, and recognize the benefits of setting and working toward common goals.
Salmon Creek Soccer Club believes the development of our youngest players is paramount as these young players are the future of our club.
OUR SOCCER PROGRAMS
Salmon Creek Soccer Club offers something for everyone! We have teams for all skill levels, from Recreation, which welcomes players of all abilities, to Academy & Advance, designed for those seeking to compete at a more competitive level of club soccer.
Our recreation program is inclusive and welcomes players of all skill levels. The club strives to offer the highest quality program with parent volunteer coaches, all while maintaining cost-effectiveness. This family-oriented program emphasizes the joy of playing the game and being part of a team.
The FC Salmon Creek U8-10 Academy Program is for players that are interested in playing at a higher level of club soccer than what Recreational soccer offers. Players are required to try out each May and selected players will be placed onto teams for their age.
